If you’re not into puns, I am so sorry. I’m also not sorry because that’s who I am, and I think we need to all start being more comfortable with who we are as long as we’re not causing others harm.
Last update we mentioned coming up on 500 sales, and expanding our laser capabilities to be able to build, engrave, etc more and larger products. We’ve been busy with life, but have slowly started to roll out at least our first creation using these new tools!
We’ve just released a DIY kit for building your own wooden dice tray. The concept of a DIY tray is a little different than I’ve seen on Etsy, and there are a couple of reasons we’re doing it this way. Our quest to always provide Free Shipping and Low Prices. We also want to encourage others to be creative and to have fun!
Obviously, Free Shipping doesn’t really mean that we, or any other shop, have some secret to shipping things for free. The cost just gets rolled in to what you’re buying, but I think it’s really important as someone who often buys items to be able to look at a price of something and know exactly what it’s going to cost and not have some surprise sucker punch of doubling the price in order to ship it. Our way to handle that is to always try to match or beat the prices of those around us, even with Free Shipping – and when you purchase multiple items we have our discounts increase so that you’re not paying the cost of shipping multiple times when buying multiple items. The cost difference between shipping an item in a bubble envelope (like this DIY kit) vs a fully completed box would nearly double the cost of the item itself. That’s not cool, man.
So we’ve come up with this kit:
It might not look like much, as it is – but one of the guys working on this Bison project have come up with this masterfully designed tray. Everything is laser cut, meaning the measurements on one will be the measurements on the next 50. This kit snaps together. No need for glue, or for any tools. No screws. Just a little tapping on the sides and it is a solid functioning tray. you can always glue it if you’re rough on your trays, but we haven’t had any issues in our daily testing of our own boxes.
In about a minute of snapping and tapping, you get your tray. Put together, it becomes this actually quite sexy and Rustic box:
Personally, I use mine exactly as it looks like the above. I am a big fan of the wood look, the burn on the edges and snaps where it was cut, and the look of wood meets fire. One of our other guys likes a cleaner more refined look, so he went ahead and painted it after snapping it.
Even without the various sales we typically run, these things are an incredible value! We mentioned always trying to keep our prices fair and we’re definitely doing that, in my opinion. Most wooden dice trays on Etsy are running between $40-50 plus shipping. Right now our DIY kits can be picked up for $25 w/ Free Shipping with no sales going on. Because of our multiple order sales here’s what this looks like this month:
1 DIY Dice Tray Kit – $18.75
1 DIY Dice Tray Kit, 1 Set of Dice – $24.50
1 DIY Dice Tray Kit, 2 Sets of Dice – $27.00
